Okapied

A fantastic new web application developed entirely in-house at Gator Logic enabling instant booking of private holiday rentals.

Okapied is a showcase implementation of the TrueText algorithm which is used for verifying feedback left by guests and hosts. It is also a good example of Gator Logic web development.

The main difference between Okapied and other holiday rental applications is that Okapied turns private accommodation into a hotel by allowing guests to instantly book for every place. Other sites involve a very long and tedious negotiation process between the guest and host before a stay is confirmed. When you are booking a place to stay you just want to make sure that you have something confirmed, right away. That is how it works with online hotel bookings and that is how it should be for private bookings as well.

It is also a big plus for the host as they don't lose out on a large proportion of potential guests who just don't have time to wait for a response to an enquiry.

There are three steps in Okapied:

  • list - Sign up and list your place for free. Prices and availability are fully customisable giving you full control over your property. You don't have to micromanage bookings so no more endless email negotiations with renters. Set up access and cleaning and watch the cash flow! Overheads are minimised, the only fee is a 7% Okapied fee. You need a PayPal account to receive rent.
  • book - Instantly book a place to stay. You don't have to send out a lot of enquiries and wait for responses. Just search for a place, prices and availability are always up to date, and instantly book using PayPal or a credit card. Once you receive a booking confirmation, containing check in instructions and the precise address, you can relax and know that your stay is confirmed.
  • stay - Follow the check in instructions and enjoy your stay! The full payment is paid to the owner's PayPal account the day after check in. After your stay you get a chance to provide feedback. The owner can also leave feedback about you!

Plans
